What is a shock bleeder?

A shock bleeder is a specialized machine used in the maintenance and servicing of shock absorbers that are found in vehicles like cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. Its primary function is to remove “change oil” in the damper. Automatic shock bleeders also can remove air from the hydraulic fluid. In this video you will learn how it is done: shock bleeding step-by-step.

Here’s why it’s essential and what it does:

  1. Air in the shock fluid can cause inconsistent damping performance because air compresses differently than hydraulic fluid. A shock bleeder uses vacuum pressure to remove any air bubbles, ensuring the shock operates smoothly and predictably.
  2. Shock bleeders also fill shocks with oil under controlled vacuum and pressure settings, ensuring the correct amount of fluid is inside. This level of control is crucial in high-performance or professional settings, where precise damping is needed for safety and optimal performance.
  3. Modern shock bleeders, like LABA7’s models, are automatic, allowing technicians to set parameters for pressure, vacuum, and other specifications. This automation improves efficiency and consistency, especially important in professional workshops or racing environments.

In short, a shock bleeder is an essential tool for properly servicing suspension systems, ensuring shocks are air-free, correctly filled with oil, and ready to perform reliably.

MODULE shock bleeder

MODULE by LABA7 is the most compact shock bleeder in our lineup. It is designed to be portable or to be installed in trucks or vans and service dampers during races.

MODULE is an automatic shock bleeder, meaning that the operator of MODULE only needs to connect the damper and select the settings, and the machine will do the rest.

It also has a big color display to select settings and track processes (if you want to).

Due to its size, MODULE does not include internal tanks for oil. At LABA7, we offer two models for external tanks: 3-liter and 6-liter. They cost 500 or 700 euros, depending on the size you choose.

Who It’s For?

MODULE is ideal for racing teams, mobile suspension services, and technicians who need trackside capabilities. Its compact size makes it perfect for fitting into service vans or trucks, allowing you to bleed shocks on-site at races or remote locations.

The external tank system is a major advantage if you work with various shock types requiring different oil viscosities—simply swap tanks instead of draining and refilling. This makes MODULE particularly suited for professionals who service multiple bike or car models with different oil specifications.

At 2500 EUR, MODULE is also the most accessible entry point into automatic shock bleeding for smaller workshops or independent tuners who want professional results without the footprint or investment of larger models.

DAILY shock bleeder

DAILY is also an automatic shock vacuum bleed pump.

This model comes with two 3-liter internal tanks for oil. Such volume is enough to service multiple regular-sized car dampers. External tanks cannot be connected to this model.

Just like MODULE, DAILY has a big color display.

Despite having two internal tanks, this model costs only 450 euros more.

Who It’s For?

DAILY is perfect for established workshops that specialize in specific vehicle types—such as motorcycle shops, mountain bike suspension services, or automotive garages focusing on particular car models. Since you typically work with similar shocks and use the same oil specifications, the internal tanks eliminate the need for constant tank swapping.

The 3-liter capacity handles multiple standard-sized dampers before requiring a refill, making it efficient for daily workshop operations without the bulk of larger models. While changing oil in the internal tanks takes slightly longer than swapping external ones, it’s still automated and straightforward.

At 2950 EUR—just 450 euros more than MODULE—DAILY offers exceptional value if you don’t need trackside portability or simultaneous multi-shock bleeding. It’s the workhorse solution for shops with steady, consistent suspension servicing workflows.

PRO shock bleeder

PRO is the top-of-the-line model from LABA7.  This suspension bleeding machine is automatic, has two internal tanks, and can handle optional external tanks. Like other models, it features a large color display for operating the machine.

Who It’s For

PRO is designed for high-volume suspension workshops, professional racing teams, and service centers handling diverse vehicle types—from mountain bikes to motorcycles to full-sized automotive shocks. The ability to bleed three shocks simultaneously is a game-changer for businesses with significant throughput demands.

The 6-liter internal tanks minimize refill interruptions during busy service days. The optional external tank capability adds ultimate flexibility—use internal tanks for common oils while keeping external tanks ready for specialty applications.

At 4000 EUR, PRO is an investment that pays off through increased efficiency and versatility. If your shop services diverse vehicles or you’re a racing team managing multiple suspension setups, PRO eliminates bottlenecks and keeps operations running smoothly.

Manual Vacuum Bleed Pump

Manual is the entry-level vacuum bleeding system from LABA7, designed for hands-on control without electronics, software, or automation. All vacuum and pressure changes are managed directly by the operator using precision valves and gauges, allowing accurate and reliable shock filling when performed correctly.

The simplicity of the Manual system results in a lower entry cost, but also means the operator must stay engaged throughout the process – monitoring gauges and adjusting valves at the right moments to achieve proper results. There are no automated cycles or safety logic handling the process for you; the quality of the bleed depends on the user’s attention and timing.

Despite its simplicity, Manual delivers excellent bleeding performance. Its compact, workshop-friendly design includes two internal 2-liter tanks and allows two shocks to be filled simultaneously, making it well suited for regular service work.

Who It’s For

Manual is designed for smaller workshops, independent mechanics, and enthusiasts who want full control over the shock bleeding process without relying on electronics or automation. While it requires the operator to actively monitor gauges and operate valves throughout the procedure, the learning curve is manageable and quickly mastered.

For users who value hands-on operation and understand the bleeding process, Manual provides reliable, professional-level results in a compact and cost-effective package. It’s an excellent choice for workshops that don’t need automated programs, or for those building their first dedicated suspension service setup.

Shops looking for maximum convenience and unattended operation may prefer an automated system, but for those who want direct control and proven performance, Manual delivers exactly what’s needed.

Shared Performance Across the LABA7 Range

As you probably understood, all three LABA7 vacuum bleeders are the same in terms of performance.

They all use the same pump for quality bleeding. They also employ the same electronics and have the same big color displays. The screens are not touch-sensitive for a reason.

When bleeding shocks, one can get their gloves oily, and operating a touchscreen would become difficult. That is why we provide pumps with a knob to control the shock bleeder – it has a grippy edge so one can easily choose programs even while wearing oily gloves.

The main differences lie in the usability of each unit.

  • MODULE was developed to be as portable and as compact as possible whilst remaining versatile. It is perfect to fit in a truck or a van for out-of-site damper servicing. Operators can have multiple tanks filled with different types of oil and use the one that they need. The tank replacement is super simple.
  • DAILY was created for workshops that focus on servicing similar shocks. It has internal tanks but cannot accommodate external ones. Changing the oil in the internal tanks is an automated process so it’s relatively easy to do but not as quick as changing external ones.
  • PRO has the biggest internal tanks and an option to connect external tanks. It allows service of many different kinds and sizes of dampers with ease.

How to Choose the Right LABA7 Bleeder?
