LABA7 EMA 5-Year Supercapacitor Limited Warranty Policy

1. Coverage and Performance Guarantee

LABA7 warrants that the supercapacitor bus (hereinafter “the Power Supply Unit”) integrated into LABA7 EMA systems will remain free from defects in materials and workmanship and will maintain sufficient operational capacity to power the equipment for a period of five (5) years from the date of original commissioning.

Under this warranty, LABA7 guarantees functional reliability: in the event that the Power Supply Unit experiences a functional failure or degrades to a point where the EMA system can no longer execute its published testing specifications, LABA7 will repair or replace the Power Supply Unit free of charge.

2. Conditions of Warranty Application

This limited warranty remains valid only if the EMA system and the Power Supply Unit are operated in accordance with LABA7’s standard operating guidelines. The warranty applies under the following conditions:

  • Normal Usage: The equipment is subjected to standard, intended operational cycles characteristic of normal shock-dyno and EMA testing environments.
  • Proper Thermal Management: The EMA cabinet is operated in a well-ventilated environment where the factory-installed cooling systems (forced-convection fans, vents) remain active, unobstructed, and properly maintained to prevent systemic overheating.
  • System Integrity: The Power Supply Unit is utilized exclusively in conjunction with the original, unmodified LABA7 inverter and bus-capacitor filter stage, operating strictly within the factory-configured 700 VDC bus limit.

3. Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover Power Supply Unit failure, operational inability, or damage resulting from the following:

  • Abusive or Abnormal Duty Cycles: Usage that far exceeds standard commercial testing applications, such as continuous, uninterrupted 24/7 high-stress dynamic cycling without allowing the system its intended rest periods or powering down the energized bus when not actively testing.
  • Physical Damage & Mishandling: Any failure caused by accidental drops, impact, liquid ingress, environmental contamination, or improper physical handling of the equipment or the supercapacitor modules.
  • Thermal Abuse: Operating the EMA system in high-temperature environments without adequate facility HVAC, or obstructing the machine’s internal cooling mechanisms, resulting in sustained extreme temperatures that induce premature thermal degradation of the cells.
  • Unauthorized Modifications: Bypassing, altering, or modifying the factory inverter, power stages, or cooling systems, which would expose the supercapacitors to excessive heat or unfiltered high-frequency current ripple.
  • Third-Party Integration: Removal of the LABA7 supercapacitor modules for use in non-LABA7 test equipment, or the integration of non-approved third-party hardware into the LABA7 power architecture.
  • Force Majeure: Damage caused by external electrical faults (e.g., severe power surges, lightning strikes), fires, floods, or other acts of God.

4. Claim Fulfillment

In the event of a verified functional failure of the Power Supply Unit within the warranty period, LABA7’s sole obligation shall be to supply a replacement supercapacitor module or repair the existing Power Supply Unit at LABA7’s discretion, restoring the EMA system to full operational capacity.
